I have pretty good buck traffic at my feeder, but in the last week or so a single boar hog has been hitting the feeder several times a day. How disruptive would a gunshot this time of year be to my deer traffic?

Should I remove him or let him ride?

I’ve killed hogs early in the morning and had deer come in and feed 10 steps from their dead carcass.......

Ditto.

How much corn is the hog going to eat while you wait on deer season?. Oh, hogs run deer off from feeders.

Me too! So shooting him now will have absolutely "0" effect on your deer hunting.

Kill the hog. A hog being there is more disruptive than a gunshot.

I have had deer feeding and are run off the feed by hogs...I then have got out of the deer blind and run off the hogs and to have deer come back to the corn before I could get back to the blind. So I would have no problem with shooting a pig. However, if ya have a pen then you probably will not see a hog nor will they come to your blind at all...usually. Let me clear up a little...that is what happens to me at my blind. Yes, I might see a pig but very seldom.

I'd shoot it as quick as I could get the rifle out the window.

standing rule is shoot every hog possible, whenever possible ... and I agree, I have shot a hog early in the morning and have deer come in to eat corn around the dead body without hesitation.

Just a few weeks ago I had a doe eating at feeder, boar showed up and she walked about 50' from the feeder and stood there watching him eat. I shot him in the head and the doe just stood there looking around confused. I was about 50yds from her when I shot. She eventually walked back in and ate more corn, but not a whole lot before she left. She was less than 30yds from him when he dropped, then was within 30' from him when she went back.

There are some ranchers that might kick you off the lease if they knew you didn't shoot a hog when you had the chance.

IMO, a boar hog taking over a feeder is a hell of a lot more disruptive to deer than a single shot sending one through that hog's earhole.

Kill him and you will have a much better chance at that buck later on!

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

The best hog is a dead hog. Like posted above when they are around they usually keeping deer away from the feeder. Shoot it ASAP while it is a regular visitor.

I never see deer while a pig is at the feeder and if deer are there first they usually run off when they show up so pigs and coyote get shot.

I shot a coyote that came out of the brush chasing a rabbit in the middle of a group of bucks. It startled them for a minute then they all came back to finish off the corn. Another time I had a group of hogs walking to my feeder as I got to it one evening. I shot two and they fell where they stood. About ten minutes later I had a couple of bucks walk out of the brush and walk by the dead hogs and make there way to the feeder where they waited for it to go off. I've had more deer run when hogs appear so I go ahead and shoot them when I see them.

Shoot him. I have a stand that has two feeders set up around it one feeder is down a long cut in the woods and the other is on the edge of the woods. The two feeders and the deer blind make a perfect triangle with 200 yards woods blocking Each feeder. I went to that blind one august morning and had two good bucks at the feeder on the edge and had a big boar hog come out at the one on the cut. I slipped my gun out and shot the hog, he fell dead. I cycled the bolt brought the gun back in the window and looked at the other feeder expecting the bucks to be gone. They hadn’t even moved, they started at the blind for about a minute then back to eating like nothing had happened.
