I don't remember the last time we had a spaghetti and meat thread, and that just wrong with all the ground venison in your freezers. That's what I'm having for dinner tonight. I start with a store bought sauce and add a few things. I start by browning mushrooms in olive oil and deglazing with vermouth. Next I brown the beef and throw in a few Jimmy Dean crumbles with bacon and start the process. I like to add a little salsa for a little sting. Salsa has all the same ingredients as the store bought sauce except oregano and peppers. Finally I add some roasted root peppers than came in a gift of Omaha steaks, then I call it Marinara Primavera. Thoughts?

Looks wonderful, will follow for sure, and expect pictures. I just finished roasting all the left-over cherry tomatoes to add to a spaghetti dish tomorrow

I made my own sauce with fresh vegetables from my garden for years but finally gave it up.

Pasta has gotten simple, any ground meat with a sauce made using store bought picante sauce and spaghetti sauce, about a half ad half mixture. Mexican and Italian dinner in one.

never thought about using salsa in spaghetti sauce ... hmmm ... We use store bought sauce and then I boost it up, I also add onions in to the meat browning process.

Do y’all mix the sauce and pasta, or keep separate until plating? I grew up keeping separate but past few years I’ll mix it all up before plating. I don’t know why

Done deal. Everything was already cooked so it only took me one martini from start to finish. I'm now letting it rest awhile while I have a cup of tea.. My neighbor mixes his pasta with the sauce. I like mine the restaurant way. It adds a little panache.

WOW. Looks great! Thats what the wife has decreed for tomorrow. Went up to friends house today and she loaded us with about a bushel of fresh veggies.

This will keep me out of the kitchen for two weeks having it three times a week. I saved four dishes oner pasta before I ran out of spaghetti. I froze more.

Interesting. This is similar to my meatloaf recipe. Simply add more meat, bread crumbs, eggs, and onion soup mix.
