The helicopter cull on Laguna Atascosa and there are still several taken every year. I worked down there on a pipeline for about 19 months and have drawn an archery tag down there the last 3 years and have had something come up at the last minute

every. damn. time.

So I haven't got to hunt it, but I have seen several out there driving by. Some good deer out there too.

The US Fish & Game handles all the helicopter harvesting and they tell TPWD how many tags to give out. TPWD just runs the hunt for US Fish & Game.

Don't apply! Way too many others applying. grin I kid. I put in for it. It might be my first, and I'm sure last, time to quarter and haul a decent-size animal to the pickup. up Does not sound like a "cushy" hunt at all.
