Only up $85 at the moment. What a dog!!! (You lucky bas#&%#@!*#'s who own it) The split is a physiological thing....will bring more newbies into the stock. Don't forget it will likely be added to the S&P and all the mutual funds will have to open a stake in it.

BTW there will be a 5:1 stock split in TSLA on aug 28. So I assume it will be trading at about $400/shr after that date. I wonder how long it will take to hit $1000 after the split. Maybe a week....

I completely miscalled Tesla. I don't know how many times I said to myself "it can't go up that much more" and did not buy even a single share. During the pandemic I did put 30% of my total into Amazon and 5% in Apple, so I am doing more than ok, just not Tesla ok. I try not to look at TSLA anymore.

Wonder if it’s too late to jump in. P/E ratio is almost 1100. Elon would have to sell millions of cars a year to bring that down to earth. That said valuation and fundamentals mean nothing in this market. Tesla is a cult stock. The split could get TSLA into the Dow and thus index and mutual funds. I think the potential of getting into peoples retirement funds is a bigger deal than than making shares more affordable to individuals. It will probably keep going up. But nobody truly knows what anything is going to do in this market.

Went to Norway over a year ago and noticed that every 5th car was a Tesla. We came back and I dove deep into the financials. I was gonna pull the trigger at $188 and decided to sleep on it. The next morning it immediately went up to $235 and I bailed. My wife is soooo sick of me kicking myself at this point. I did the same with Auto Zone 20 years ago with my 1 year severance pkg from old job. Bought 1000 @ $23 and sold @ $37. Nice profit but if I had bought and held I would be a millionaire. Hindsight is 2020.

I'm not sure you have missed the ball on Tesla. There may be a new set of investors coming in after the split. That is very likely, but I am going to resist the FOMO on Tesla. I already have too many irons in the fire with less than 10% in cash and sleeping well at night with my current longs and trades. My Apple and Amazon aka 1/3 of my retirement portfolios hit new highs today. At this point if my stops hit tomorrow, I would still be dancing in the street. I actually do have some Tesla indirectly. I had hedged against a possible Biden win or Dem sweep with some Renewable/Clean energy related ETF holdings. QCLN for one example holds over 11% Tesla. Those ETFs have gone to the moon as well.

Don't know about the spot price, but it must have dropped some more. Two I hold, GLD, the gold trust closed a couple bucks down, and GDX gold miners closed about a buck down.
