The problem, much like Texas, is the big cities have more people and are totally lefty (save for Fort Worth, and that's slipping).

California when I lived in Bastrop and the same here at the lake. They are arriving with wads of equity cash from selling their homes at CA prices. Homes for $1 million dollars here are a real bargain to them.
I moved to Texas from CA twelve years ago in order to live among like-minded people instead of Leftists. My wife is a native Texan whose family has lived on the same land since the 1850s, so I spent a lot of time visiting in Texas.
Sadly, the current crop of incoming Californians that I have met are bringing their Leftism with them. I see them as locusts who have destroyed one place and move to the next.

At work, most of our international students are from India...where I live most of the transplants are from California....at the lake most of the transplants are from where I live now...

My wife and I moved here (Yoakum) back in March because Der Fuehrer, Heir Northram, is trying to dissolve the 2nd amendment in the People's Republic of Virginia. We chose Texas not only because we have a friend here, but also because of the culture, the political climate, the economy and, yes, the huntin' and fishin'.
So far, so good.

Came from California 5 years ago to flee the liberal policies and lefties. Most of us are in my boat, the ones that are moving to Austin are mostly libs IMO and ruining that city
