Sides for Fried Fish

FRIED OKRA PATTIES 1 lb fresh okra 1/2 cup onion (chopped) 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1 large egg 1/2 cup water 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 pinch garlic powder 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup cornmeal oil (for frying) Combine cut okra, onion, salt, pepper, water and egg. Mix well. Combine flour, baking powder, cornmeal and garlic powder. Add to okra mixture, stirring well. Drop about 1/4 cup portions into about 1/2" hot oil. Fry over medium heat until well browned on both sides. Drain on paper towels.

This is so good it will set you free 1 bag of Cole slaw mix with carrots 3 chopped green onion stalks Package of previously frozen Corn, thawed and rinsed 1/2 cup Cilantro chopped Blue Cheese crumbled about 6 oz (optional) Black beans to your desired amount Small amount of pickled Jalapenos finely chopped no seeds! Mix/stir up. Then add Lite House Jalapeno Ranch dressing, just enough to get it moist, not sloppy and mix in.

Fried okra and potatoes. https://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/fried-okra-potatoesIngredients 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon cornmeal 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper 1 pound fresh okra, sliced 1/2 cup peeled, cubed potato (about 1 medium) Vegetable oil How to Make It Step 1 Combine first 4 ingredients in a small bowl; coat okra and potato in mixture. Step 2 Pour vegetable oil to a depth of 1/2 inch into a large heavy skillet, and place over medium-high heat until hot. Add okra and potato; reduce heat to medium. Cover and cook, turning often, 10 minutes or until potato is tender. Uncover and cook 3 more minutes or until browned. Serve immediately.

Step 2 Drop batter by rounded tablespoonfuls into hot oil, and fry, in 3 batches, 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until golden. Keep warm in a 200° oven.
