FRIED OKRA PATTIES
1 lb fresh okra
1/2 cup onion (chopped)
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 large egg
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch garlic powder
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
oil (for frying)
Combine cut okra, onion, salt, pepper, water and egg.
Mix well. Combine flour, baking powder, cornmeal and garlic powder.
Add to okra mixture, stirring well.
Drop about 1/4 cup portions into about 1/2" hot oil.
Fry over medium heat until well browned on both sides.
Drain on paper towels.


Combat Infantryman, the ultimate hunter where the prey shoots back.

Fried okra and potatoes. https://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/fried-okra-potatoes

Ingredients
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon cornmeal
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1 pound fresh okra, sliced
1/2 cup peeled, cubed potato (about 1 medium)
Vegetable oil

How to Make It
Step 1
Combine first 4 ingredients in a small bowl; coat okra and potato in mixture.

Step 2
Pour vegetable oil to a depth of 1/2 inch into a large heavy skillet, and place over medium-high heat until hot. Add okra and potato; reduce heat to medium. Cover and cook, turning often, 10 minutes or until potato is tender. Uncover and cook 3 more minutes or until browned. Serve immediately.

3/4 cup self-rising flour
3/4 cup diced sweet onion (about 1/2 medium onion)
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 1/4 cups buttermilk

How to Make It
Step 1
Pour oil to depth of 3 inches into a Dutch oven; heat to 375°. Combine cornmeal and next 3 ingredients. Add egg and buttermilk; stir just until moistened. Let stand 10 minutes.

Step 2
Drop batter by rounded tablespoonfuls into hot oil, and fry, in 3 batches, 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until golden. Keep warm in a 200° oven.
