...and will be again this year.

What do you get, the small, medium or large chicken fried steak?

Mary's, I call ahead and my plate and ice tea waiting when I arrive. It is priceless to see everyone's face when I walk in and they bring my plate and tea out. CFS Medium.

I need to try Sissy's. Been pretty regular at Smokestack lately on my return trips for late breakfast have had a couple of stops at New York Hill for dinner.

The chicken gizzards are the best thing on the menu at Mary’s.

Where exactly is Sissy's? Have been eating at Su Casa after most hunts for lunch and if early enough, Pam's for breakfast....Also mix in Buckaroo Burger for lunch. Need another dinner spot other than Ernie's. Is Sissy's open for dinner?

Sissy's is on 183 just south of the red light about 3/4 mile on the east side. Small white building. Only open for breakfast and lunch.

Two employees tested positive for covid at Ernie's. But they said no customers were exposed.

Try New York Hill across the highway from Smokestack. Better food and a lot faster service.

Ive never even noticed Sissys going through there but with all due respect to Stompy there is no way the CFS is "much better" than Marys. Since I havent eaten at Sissys I guess its posible its the same but Marys is perfect so it cant be much better. The small is plenty big enough for me. I just cant believe they dont have sweet tea.

We enjoy Mary's and stop in a few times a year. Was just there a few weeks ago, and it didn't disappoint! I plan to try Smokestack and NY Hill soon as well.

Thats fair enough Stompy, Ill clarify as well and say IMO Marys has the best CFS anywhere.
NY Hill is a good all around place but CFS doesnt compare. I think they give 3 sides. Never tried the Smokestack but heard good things.

Have eaten at the smokestack more times than I can count. I can get food like that in any diner in Ft Worth.

Mary's is all about the gravy! Cannot believe you have not figured that out yet.

Mary’s has much better atmosphere. I like the Smokestack too but they don’t serve cold beer there. That’s always a consideration.

I have a buddy who eats at Mary's.....and gets French fries dipped in the gravy. Mary's cfs to me they add garlic or something to the batter. Its ok in a pinch but I've had much better cfs elsewhere.

Mary's is definitely all about the GRAVY...best of any restaurant/cafe. I like their CFS as well, but it has become somewhat inconsistent in the last several years. I am not a fan of heavily battered and deep fried CFS, which is what most do. The way Mary's batters and cooks their CFS is my favorite style.
