Was watering my ivy out back the other day and these came pouring out of the ground. The video is wrong...they are closer to 3/8" long.....thought harvester ants at first but not so sure...these are a bit larger. I've never seen these before....some variation of carpenter ant perhaps?

Don't what type of ant it was or if it was ant but I have to go find a Dramamine after trying to watch that.. sick

roflmao yeah...sorry about that....he was moving pretty quick and I was trying to keep pace and make sure nothing was crawling up my leg

the larger ones had a peach or light amber colored abdomen

that's what I thought at first but if crazy ants are 1/8" long these are way too big...the ones i have are larger than harvester ants. I sent a couple of pics off to TAMU...we'll see if they respond.

UPDATE:..... I sent pics in to TAMU AgriLife Extension and got a response....they have forwarded my pics and info to the "ant expert" in College Station....we'll see what he says.
