One Strap, back of atv to front of trailer. Keeps rear from bouncing and keeps load from rolling back. One "just in case" cable. I thought of it, so I knew it had to be out there, a tie down with closed loops (like soft ties) on each end. I like loops when applicable. [Linked Image]

A company, Custom Tie Downs can make any strap you think of and ship it is less than a week. I been securing it this way for a few years using soft ties that hooked to the straps. I like fewer points of failure.

These are fantastic if you don’t hunt in briar country. Therefore they don’t work for me.

I used straps for years - got tired of messing with them so I bought two chains and a lock - wrap one chain around my buggy and around the side rail of my trailer and put a combination lock on it - do the same on the back end - fast, safe, simple, and strong

I use two chains on each side of the rear of the trailer that are like a yoke to the back of the UTV receiver hitch. I drive onto the trailer and hook one chain to each side of the receiver hitch then drive forward to tighten the chain. I then use one ratchet strap on the front to keep the tension forward. Set the break. The chains stay on the trailer permanently and I use 2 small clevis to attach to the UTV. I used the same chains when I hauled a Jeep CJ7 I had for a while. Only thing I did different was I used 2 ratchet load binders on the front of the jeep instead of a ratchet strap.

I like the concept of keeping pressure on the deck, but not the permanently mounted brackets.

I would just run a chain from the front d loop to the front of your buggy then use a chain and binder or strap across back to pull it tight easy peasy.

come along across the floor board with heavy card on floor board or chain with boomer across floor board and again cardboard on floor board.
'other method is mule with winch to front of trailer and tie to ball on hitch on back of mule to trailer. I have used both and have not lost one yet. Years ago using heavy duty tie town I had the strap rub into, my fault long haul over very rough road. Luckily i saw the strap dragging before I lost the mule.

2 inch strap across floor board ran through a piece of fire hose to protect it from cutting. Now with my new trailer I'm also using 4 smaller ratchet straps to lock down all four corners too but will admit, it's overkill. But that sucker don't move and i usually have 4 dogs in the box of my mule so it's piece of mind.

On my last trailer I made 8 metal loops that laid flat between the wood boards. Used a magnet to lift them up and all ratchets worked on the loops. They were welded to the cross members closest to where I needed them on a hinge

I did the ratchets etc for years - pain in the butt to get straps run through, get the straps straight, etc.

Chains do not stretch or move or break - and when you use a combination lock on them that buggy is not going anywhere - just is a lot easier for me and quick - once my buggy is on the trailer it takes one third the time it use to with straps

Are you using a binder?

So, when not in use the metal loops were not on the deck? That works.

With this one strap, from the time I set the park brake with my front tires tight against the front of my trailer, to the time I'm done is less than a minute. I loop the strap around my trailer mount,(as shown in the picture) pull the ratchet strap tight and give it a couple of cranks. I wasn't looking to set a speed record like a pit crew, but was just looking for an efficient, effective way to get it done after trying a few different set ups over the years.

I use shock straps. I've got them sized and zip tied so I'm not adjusting them every time. Super easy and secure. Only ratchet strap I've found that won't jiggle loose.

I would have tried those, didn't know about 'em.

Gotta admit that looks pretty cool. You have it bolted into a wood floor with no problems?

I’m just not sold on that holding the ATV or SxS from bouncing or rocking

If you read the owner's manual on my Mule Pro and look at their recommended tie down points, they actually want the suspension to work when it's tied down. I've pulled it that way a couple of times and it's crazy to watch in the mirrors.

I do compress the suspension on mine with how I tie it down, but apparently it's not necessary.

The correct way is via the tires to let the suspension move. But the Mighty Tite just doesn’t seem like it grabs enough tire to prevent it from moving

Edit: I now see that the Mighty Tite has a rear tie down that cinches the suspension down, the fronts are merely a tire chock

Towing either a Scrambler or a Tacoma, I have had nothing but problems when the suspension is allowed to "work". I ain't buying that method for a minute.

With each, I attach the winch cable to the trailer and then use a ratchet and clevice to tie down tires on opposite sides.
