When I got back home I was looking through my game camera pictures from my place in Houston County and was very surprised to see these guys on my camera approaching my feeder. Two river otters apparently looking for a new home. I am seven or eight miles from the Neches River but do have two creeks bordering my property although the smaller creek is dried up due to no rain. The larger creek has some parts with no water so maybe these guys live in it.

Pretty cool. Wonder if they do eat corn.

Hope there aren’t any ponds around. Exactly, shoot them if you have a pond.

Actually I do have two ponds so I guess I'll have to watch for them. Maybe the bobcat that I've photographed at that feeder may get them.

Bucket list animal for me, I’d be after them... they make a great mount!
Never been to a camping world. I prefer Dick's to be honest.

You sure those aren't Nutria? Nutria are much fatter, like a huge rat. They are not sleek ans slender like otters.

No, they are certainly otters not nutria. Nutria are much larger and look like a giant gerbil or rat. I read that river otters are in east Texas which I didn't know until I saw them.

We’ve had otters and beaver problems at the family place in cass county. Shoot every one we see. 12 gauge buckshot does a number.
