I use a SpyPoint to monitor my front gate. It is the older $500 one with the solar panel. I think they are closing them out for $250 now. It works like a charm but I am on my 3rd one in 3 years. When it is working it is great. When anyone pulls up i get a notification within about 15 seconds then can go to the app to see the picture it took.

Glad I came across this thread. I am looking for a cellular camera to put up in the Panhandle for muleys. Was looking at Spypoint at Cabelas last week in Lubbock, nearly bought the solar one. Sure liked their plans. Anyone using the micro solar?

They have good plan rates....unlimited plans are $10/month(annual plan) with a 33% discount right now. No activation fees. You get 100 free pics per month with the buy. IIRC there is no contract so you can do month to month at a bit higher rate. The have several plans. Will hopefully put mine out next week or so to test it for archery season blind.

Here is an update no my SpyPoint Cell-Link. I cashed in some Cabelas Points and bought a SpyPoint Cell-Link for $59.99. It is supposed to work with just about any existing cam you own. I finally got a MicroSD card(10x) and set mine up today. Simple setup once you get the app download. Need to format(not quick) the card first then it walks you thru the setup steps. You get a 7 days of unlimited free photos transmissions to start then free 100 per month. Plans are based off what you think you might use..if you buy the unlimited year plan it is $120 per year or go month to month with no contract for $15. I used an 8 yr old Primos Truth cam to test it with since it had a bottom SD port and was the easiest to test it with close to the house. I used a 1 minute delay and set up mine to send photos to the app every 2 hrs...you can chose every 24 hrs or 12 hrs or 6 hrs or 4 hrs or every 2 hrs. I used Rayovac Alkaline batteries as a test to see how long they would last sending pics every 2 hrs with the 1 minute delay and lowest resolution. Here are a few of the pics I got tonight at 10 pm. After a week or so I will change it to a better camera and play with the resolution/camera delay to see how the battery life compares to this older Primos. The camera batteries are not effected by this unit and it still stores the pics on the Micro SD card. You can save pics from the card to your computer or phone then delete them from the app. You can not adjust the camera from the app or send videos. So far it works pretty good with better signal than my phone has in the same location.

I have a bushnell aggressor camera and it has worked well for almost 2 years now.
I do leave it out year round and it has held up to the heat well.

I get about 2k pics from a set of 12 AA batteries and would probably get more if I went to lithium.

I believe the cost is $15/month for unlimited thumbnails.
