For this time of year, that deer has some long hair! Usually don’t see a hide that thick in Texas even in the dead of winter.

Hard to really tell by the pic but looks to be an older doe just based on facial structure. I would probably tag her early in season.

If she is indeed " Melanistic ", I would let her walk and spread the gene around for a few years. That is more rare than a Piebald deer.
