Gunnison River. Put four in the boat, #20 fly on a 5 wt. Limited two days in a row at Spring Creek Reservoir. Then we put 100 miles on the Foreman. Best Ride was Tin Cup Pass to St. Elmo and back. Had a city day in Crested Butte for lunch, then dinner there one evening. The rest of the week was at a cabin on the river. [Linked Image]

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Good job! You should try the smaller streams around Lake City. You'll slay 'em.

Awesome job there, but why are there steaks on the grill and no fish?

That was a given, but here is proof of life, or death in this case. Butter, lemon pepper, over coals.

Planning a trip to Gunnison in late September. Great laid back atmosphere in that area.

My first trip to Colorado was 40 years ago, I was 17 on a high school ski trip, stayed in this same place and skied Crested Butte. I've been on probably 25 ski trips to all the great places since then, some in Utah. I've been back to this same place, Three Rivers Resort, four times. Cabins on the river, a fly shop small store and good bar and restaurant. Remote and quiet. Fishing is great, three lakes and a great river all right there. This was my fifth time to fish Co, first time to use a fly rod. My take away is, fly fishing is to fishing, as bow hunting must be to hunting. [Linked Image]

Did you fish Taylor River Reservoir? I fished it many years ago when I was a mere lad of 13. We trolled and caught both trout and salmon.

Beautiful. Made a couple of float trips in Arkansas.

No, didn't wet a hook there. It's more like a moto cross atmosphere around there. I wanted to go to the river north, where the river dumps into Taylor lake and fish like I did years ago. But with Mirror Lake, and Spring Creek Reservoir very close there wasn't much thought that went into the decision to pass on Taylor Reservoir. Mirror Lake, as shown is some of my pic's is one of the most beautiful lakes you'll find.
