For the cheaper o/u?

I can tell you both need to be cleaned properly before use. I can’t say one is better than the other but most of the issues with these shotguns are from packaging grease. Usually shows up on the second outing where it has heated up and then cooled, causing the firing pin to seize up. Neither are competition guns that will hold up to 10s of thousands of rounds. But you already know that.

Had a stoeger 12ga and it was garbage. Have also had a yildiz 28 ga and it was pretty good. I’d go yildiz

Don't know about the O/U, but I have 2 of the M3500 Stoeger Autos and they have been great.

I have shot both; a budget/entry Yildiz o/u (don't recall the model) and a Stoeger Condor. I'm a larger frame guy and happened to shoot the Condor better than the Y. I also prefer it to the Ruger Red Label and Citori that I have in the safe - the Condor doesn't shoot as soft, but I shoot it better than those. That also may be a preference as I can be tough on my tools and a scratch or ding on a $400 shotty hurts less than one that was significantly more expensive.

I have a Yildiz and it's a great gun, but I agree it probably wouldn't be my choice for shooting regular competitions. It is definitely lighter than a lot of the other O/U's out there. When I bought mine I checked a Stoeger out and there was a noticeable difference in the weight. I like the lighter weight but your shoulder will feel it. I'll also second the cleaning. My ejectors started sticking maybe the third time I shot a round of sporting clays with it. I ended up taking the ejectors out, cleaned the factory gunk out, and lubed them and it has been perfect ever since.

Yildez, it's cheap, need to really clean it and often but for a back up gun and when Academy runs them on sale. OK.
I picked up 20 Yildez OU for another back up loaner as I've been known to take extra friends and need to supply the firearms. I've got my "B" brands Sporting Clays OU that I use 12 and 20, a few other 12 and 20 choked guns but I've needed to provide enough at times for several people and this Yildez for beginners, ladies and smaller frame folks fits that need.

Remember you said "cheaper o/u". If this is to be a primary shooter and more than just a one time clay shoot or dove hunt, then save a little more for something more reliable.

I've got a 28 gauge Yildez. Fun little gun, decent quality. I will shoot a round of skeet here and there, also use it for dove hunting some. Like others have said, I wouldn't use it as a competition gun or put tens of thousands of rounds through it.
My brother-in-law has the 20, he seems to enjoy it.

I have a Stoeger Condor O/U 12 gauge and it’s exceeded my expectations. I’ve shot at least 1,000 rounds and it always goes bang. It is heavy and has a kick, but no complaints given the price. I’ve never handled a Yildiz, so I can’t compare the two. You’re welcome to shoot mine if you’re ever anywhere near Fossil Pointe Sporting Grounds.

I have to vote Yildez as well. For the money they are decent guns and some even have pretty wood if you get lucky. I hade an over and under 20 for a while and my dad wanted a 28 gauge to shoot for fun so he picked one up and shot it for a few years until that itch was scratched. Neither of us had any mechanical issues with them and for what you pay for them, I believe they are solid guns. They are a little on the light side and my 20 gauge, when I was younger, would wear my shoulder out after about 100 rounds. I have never shot a Stoger O/U but have handled several I believe the Yeildez to have a better fit and finish. Also, this is just my opinion, the Yildez fit me better and felt better in my hands. The Yildez overall handlers better for me.

I got my son a Yildiz youth 20ga the other day. It’s tight, but looks and feels like it’s made well. Neither one will be a beretta silver pigeon, but you know that. Academy sells a limb saver recoil pad that I bought made specifically for the Yildiz. I can’t imagine shooting without it. Maybe it’s because the thing only weighs 5 lbs, but it’s very snappy. Kicks more than my 12 gauge semi that’s for sure. It’s more expensive than the condor, but IMO looks better. I did see Cabelas has the condor on sale for $299 which is a savings of $100.

BIL I had a stoeger at the dove hunt. It works but it is heavy. I have never felt a yildiz though so take that for what it is worth.

BiL, you want to shoot a Yildiz before buying one? You are welcome to borrow mine for the weekend. I don't shoot shotguns much, and wouldn't know a good shotgun from a bad one anyhow. But, I have been happy with the yildiz the few times I've shot it.
