Try a TENS unit. You can get a decent one at CVS. They are about $50. Look it up. Works wonders for me

Seriously, the one thing I wont part with is my "Thumper", https://www.amazon.com/Thumper-E501...597889964&sr=8-5&tag=googhydr-20 Just keep it off bone. The 2 pads straddle the neckbone just fine. 2nd would be my inversion table

Take one of those pain pills or 2 ibuprofen and get a good nights rest. To morrow stay in bed or something comfortable. Don't get on the computer for 2 days then see how you feel. Still in pain go see the dr. you don't want to be layed up as deer season is coming.

Run it for 10 to 15 minutes the first time. If you turn it too high and run it to long it can/will make the muscles sore. I keep one with me when traveling, it has saved many a trip/vacation over the years.

Dang, didnt think i would even get much feedback on this and we hit 4 pages in 24 hours. I can post a pic of big buck with multiple years of pics and ask for age and score and it takes a week to get a page. Going to doctor and depending on what he says i may try some of this stuff. Never heard of TENS or Thumper or Inversion Table etc. Wilhunts advise on laying down all one day then staying off computer etc and then see how feels may be good idea. Surely my doctor will have advice on any of these options.

Surely my doctor will have advice on any of these options. If you happen to be heavy get ready to get your feelings hurt. I had back problems many years ago. After a couple of doctor visits and shots the doctor told me I didn't have a problem in the world that losing a significant amount of weight wouldn't fix. I guess it was a wake up call. I lost probably 40 pounds or so, and have kept almost all of it off, and no more back problems. After reading this thread and a few links I Googled it appears extra weight can affect the neck as well. Hopefully your doctor visit and new pillow fixes you right up. Good Luck!

You are absolutely correct. Extra weight causes many issues. Some of which build on each other.

No extra weight on me guys but thanks for the advise on that. I keep it run off--wired pretty tight but slowing down some with age. Doctor appointment for Monday so yall hafta hear me complain a few more days. 5 hour drive to one lease friday and then 3 hours to the other on sat and then 4 hours back. Working in between. If driving or working hurts it then we will see, but i wont be on computer at all so that may help.

At the lease 3 days this weekend and off the computer. Neck better for sure but back on the computer yesterday and it hurt again. Also over weekend even though it didnt hurt while out and about and working it hurt trying to sleep and really slept very little. Doc yesterday gave me muscle relaxer which ive never taken anything like that. Took one at bedtime and slept a full night for first time. Kinda weird cause i would wake up and i hurt more than normal but i was real groggy and would go right back to sleep which is very unusual. Better today but havent been on computer much. Try the drug thingy tonight and go from there.

At least you got some sleep and may have a bit of a positive attitude going forward. Good that you were able to work without the pain.
