Took two minutes.

When u buy online, what do you get in the way of tags? Do they mail you an actual license like you would buy at Academy.?

It's been my tradition for years to take my daughter to Academy and get our licences together (of course, Daddy buys)

I'll go to a store and pick up my free one. (Lifetime license already paid for!) I love this time of year when getting my new license. I'll go get my son's license (lifetime also) and give it to him like a present. He just rolls his eyes, but I love it!

.
You can print off the purchase page but, yes, they mail you one in about a week.
At that point - you are in the TPWD computer as legit.
It's identical to the license you stand in line for at the store.

I like that all the years previous tags are all right there so you don't have to spend anytime doing it.

I stopped doing mine online when one never showed up in the mail. In person and in my wallet as I'm walking out from now on.

Bought my super combo and the wife’s all-water fishing license. Took five minutes total.

Have the app. It saves all the license data from previous year so you can purchase straight from there. Also can see all the licenses and permits that are active

I went to Academy to get some shells for dove, so the license was only a few minutes. A yearly routine for me. I like to be able to give it a good look and make sure that it is correct, HIP, Super Combo, tags, etc.
I had an emailed receipt show up while I was still in the store.
They also said that the Outdoor Annual book is no longer available, just the internet or the app.

Buying one at the store is a bit of a tradition for me. If I lived in a rural area, I would buy it at the same place every year.

Just got mine as well. The app hasn't been updated just yet.

I live pretty far from a store that sells a hunting license so I print out the Lifetime
License paperwork every year, fill it out then mail it in. They sent me an email with the new license
information and said I could use that as proof but could not use if for tagging. They said the
new license was on the way and I got it a few days later with no problem. It would have all
the necessary tags. Easy to do for lifetime licenses plus you can download the paperwork, fill it out
then fax it to them as well.

I was worried how things might turn out this year with some virus running around creating a lot of panic.

Would have ordered mine online but did not. Mistake....went to Walmart where I usually buy them. There was no clerk in the dept. and no other customers either. Clerk, a young lady finally came after I went to automotive and ask if they would page someone for sporting goods. She was not aware of all things involved took another 20 minutes, did not ask about HIP and then she was going to charge $10. for my grandsons license which was # 505. This retails for about $60. Told her this was incorrect so she finally calls a guy over who was a asst. mgr. He did not know much more than the young lady. They finally rang up the correct total but I don't think they rang it up as license. Online from now on.

Exactly the same story I had the last time I tried to buy one at Walmart. .....and the same outcome.

Walmart is the only place to get a license in Graham. It took less than 5 minutes for me and both boys.
