I went to lake whitney this weekend scouting some public deer land. I didn't see any acorns on the trees down there. Have any of y'all been seeing a bunch this year? I hope it is not another bumper crop like last year, deer wouldn't even look at my corn. Thanks for the info.

Lots in the Postoak savanah region. I have a tree in front of my trailer that is loaded.

Looked at one of my trees last week. Almost no nuts. They will come to corn this year.

Northeast Texas near Longview trees are loaded. We have had over 45" of rain this year, 10.5" of it since Fathers day.

We are in good shape, mainly because of a lack of oak trees.

Haven't seen many here (Llano county). If we can get a rain in the next 30 days we'll have some. On the ranch in La Salle county, it's spotty on the Nueces River bottom, but there are a few.

Not much here in the Cross Timbers region. Last years bumper crop has slowed acorns down from what I can tell. Most of the acorns last year didn't sour until very late in the year.

Haven't seen any acorns in Lee County yet. Deer are already hitting the mesquite beans.

It might be best if you hope there are plenty of acorns. Unless you are feeding protein 24-7 and if it is as dry as where you are as it is here the Deer are going to need all the help they can get. Be a real shame if you had to really hunt a Deer.

I have hunted deer for 30 years with a bow on public lands only. I usually kill 1 or 2 a year. All of these lands did not allow baiting, but I am hunting on Corp land at lake whitney now. They allow hand scattering of corn there. Just wondering about the acorn crop this year mainly for deer movement. They did not move much last year due to the bumper crop. You can tell based on my first sentence that I have and do actually have to hunt deer. Thanks for all the responses. Good luck to everyone this year.
