Is hunting out of an elevated and insulated blind with a portable heater in a freezing drizzle with a high powered rifle and scope capable of hitting dimes at 100yds, along with a thermos full of hot coffee, a pair of binoculars, a laser range finder, a cell phone, a bag of jerky and in a comfortable recilining office chair with arms and advantage?

'Hunted quail once on the King, on Peter Holt's leased pasture. The dog handler could knock the head off a flushing quail with a putter.

To the OP's original post, there's one reason you're never gonna get all hunters to support each other - human ego. Lots of folks need to validate themselves by looking down on how other people do things.

Maybe a weird thread, but some fun and interesting stories. up

agree Creekrunner!

I killed a doe with a Buck hunting knife, actually several for that matter ... similar to someone talked about earlier in this thread about being caught in a fence and wacking with a hatchet

Ever fished for pigs with a hammer. Running lines in the Brazos one day and a sounder hit the water. We rode up along side of them and got 2. That was some years back. Talk about a clean kill.

Hatchets, heck those are for armatures who need to get close to make a throw and kill. Out here we hunt deer with a Javelin, throws must be greater than 75 yards and javelins must have a mechanical broad head that opens on impact! bounce

Y'all do know I'm kidding! After reading the post that made no sense, I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon! banana

I met a guy that was real into turkey hunting. Went to New Zealand to complete the world slam. Got into camp when it was almost dark. Their guide said it's almost time to go hunt and pulled around in a golf cart. They drove the fence lines and smacked roosting turkeys off T-posts with a golf club. The following days they hunted regularly, but meat hunting was turkeys with a golf club at night.

I have enjoyed the replies to this thread a lot. Lots of guys with a great sense of humor for sure. Sure makes the off season more tolerable and less boring. Kinda makes me want to go duck hunting with a nail gun !

I have an idiot brother who has a kinky streak...He has killed a buck with a softball bat, a doe with a mag light flashlight and and another doe with an oar. I would never encourage him to try a hatchet, he'd try it for sure!
