Hey guys, wondering if anyone around the Denton area has an Excel F4 1751. Looking at a few and wasn’t sure of how big of a difference it would be from a 1754.

What kinda difference? Speed, stability, room? You’ll gain a bit of stability and lose a bit of speed (load, motor, prop being equal). I’ve got an 1851 (not Excel) you’re welcome to check out some time but about an hour from Denton

Mostly space. Usually hunt with 2 or 3 guys and a dog plus gear. My buddies boat is a 1754 and it’s god room. Not sure what 3 inches will do

They are heavy boats and get stuck alot. I think they have a new one out now that is more of a open deck layout that is alot lighter. That boats should be ok.

Go with the 1754, you're not going to notice any big difference in performance in the 2 if you're running a mud motor on it. I've got a 1754 and a 1954

I had a 1754 f86. It was a good boat. I didnt ever really stick it, but i drove mine alot to know how to handle it. If u stick one. Spud poles and a winch are your best friends. A wireless winch remote is worth its weight in gold if u hunt by yourself. I ve got a custom 1854 timbercreek w a gtr40 you can come check out. Im n denton

I have a 1754 F4 with a 4500 Black Death have never been stuck and have ran it through pretty much dry land and it kept going! Next one will be a F86 just cause all the timber. Been a great boat so far.

Pay attention to how you operate it and you won't get them stuck. Yes they are heavy, but that also means that they handle open/rough water. Remember the old saying about 4x4? Just because you have it doesn't mean you won't get stuck, some times you get twice as stuck. Mud boats are kinda the same thing. Sure they will go some absolutely nasty places, places boats probably shouldn't go, but that doesn't mean its the best idea. Some times you need to park and walk it in.
