I wasn't sure where to put this, but it deals with binos so here I am.

Iphone 7 plus has a dual camera set up. There's been times that I've taken pics through my binos and about 75% of the time the dual camera set up tends to switch back and forth making the screen black, thus the pics black.

Is there an app or setting to where I can stick with one camera lens without it flip flopping over to the other? I don't have a phone scope, but maybe they have an app that keeps the lenses from switching? I just position the binos on the shooting ledge and hold the phone.

Any idears?

I have the phonescope cheap but effective. Bought another adapter at the Safari club show, all aluminum, was cheap works great. They work pretty neat and take great pics thru binos or a spotting scope

Should be able to install and use the PhoneSkope app. Makes taking photos through your optics a lot easier (even when just using your hands).

I hadn't looked in the app store, but didnt realize they had an app. I'll check that out. My issue was that it seemed like my phone would switch to the other camera (there are dual cameras on the back of my iphone 7 plus) as soon as i could get it to focus through my binos.

I don’t take the best bino photos and pretty much gave up on it and wife got me a Nikon P900 this past Christmas.

But back when I was trying one thing a buddy taught me that was a cool little trick was use your zoom on your camera....go to about 2x or 2.5x then go through the bino, that should also help you from jumping between lenses.

Good luck!

Now..who would have taught you that grin

My wife bought me an attachment that goes directly to my phone so it has its own zoom and different lenses for different distances. I also have a new camera but sometimes the phone is easier to carry and use.

I've tried talking my wife into one of those cameras...those are very slick! We have a Cannon T5i with a couple of lenses. One is the 70-300 lens that i take sometimes, but it's pretty loud using the auto focus on the video mode. I'm bad about running the camera and potentially sticking a gun out the window at the same time lol.

I've attempted to zoom my phone then bring it up to the binos. It seems like once i get it up there and lined up, it's just barely about to focus, then switches lenses. I did find a video the other day to try turning the phone horizontal and that may help. I may give that a shot. If that doesnt work, i may have to give up my beloved Pelican phone case and switch to something else so i can pick up a phone scope. I've seen some universal phone scopes but they seem fairly bulky
