Seeking a contractor between Weatherford and Abilene who can build a barndominium from ground up to turn key. Any leads would be appreciated.

KZ construction is the best around Graham and parts around.

John Rempel owner of Redwood Construction 325-201-1897 built ours about 2 months ago and we could not be happier. He also built my BIL’s, neither one of us had any issues and John was great to work with even when we made changes in the middle of the build.

There are several I would stay away from around the Parker co./Erath Co. area - FB group "Texas Barndominiums" can give you a lot of references.

I'm curious as well about the basic cost per foot. Obviously it depends on the finish out.

Fredericksburg/Llano/Marble Falls area $130.00/square ft. finished. I’ve contacted 3 different contractors and the price the same. We’ll most likely build pier and beam.

I would see a benefit if I could fool the county on taxable value. And finish it out covertly at night.

What is the going rate for a barndaminium?
If $130 a foot is a legit rate I’d never build one. Have two bids on custom stick/brick homes 3/2 about 2000 sqft for 125-130 a foot all granite and tile.
It's hell eatin em live

I do feel like a barndominium is built for people that really like the way they look. Definitely not the cheapest option but they look very cool

They are very knowledgeable about the steel barns they like to tax you just like a house . The back of mine faces the road. The garage /shop is seen from the road I keep hay are tractors setting around in August and September when he does his drive by and go talk to him about how he has it overpriced! Lol

US Construction in Brownwood - http://www.usconstructiontx.net/ - did our's and we could not be happier. 1280' shop w/ 14' sidewalls and 960' apartment (640' down and 320' up) with 16' sidewalls. We did stained concrete floors in apartment, so saved some money on floor coverings. Big bathroom, one bedroom downstairs, and loft upstairs for guests/media. Can't remember exact price psf, but nowhere near $130. Will add, our price did not include appliances, kitchen counters, or cabinets. We sourced those ourselves.
