Hunting was pretty good this morning. Shot the first one from a good sized group. No follow up on the others, grass was too tall. The next two, I found them out in the open, I was undetected at 205 yards. Shot the first one, and the second one from this group was on the run, directly away from me. I got the cross hairs right between the shoulders ( I was shooting from a high hill, down like 60-70' in elevation drop) and squeezed, trying to keep my gun moving. I have never seen one cartwheel flip this hard. Kinda' like 1-1/2 off the high dive when I was a kid. Looks like bullet impacted right down the spine, no exit. All these DRT, Tikka CTR, Hornady Superformance, 165 gr. .308, Leupold VX5-HD, CDS dial (which I spun to 200). [Linked Image]

Yep, can't beat a .308. Good shooting.

Good shooting. A .308 has been my preferred cartridge since the 1960s.

good shooting. sounds like a fun morning. The 308 is about as good a hog caliber, as there is.
