Since it has been publicized so much that these particular laser pointers can and possibly have caused some level of permanent eye damage (including blindness), I'm wondering when deadly force will be deemed justified against someone using one against officers. The Texas Penal Code definition of deadly weapon includes "anything that in the manner of its use or intended use is capable of causing death or serious bodily injury." I would say this fits those laser pointers, so they are using a deadly weapon against officers.

Certainly meets the definition of serious bodily injury....
