DNS, I will be keeping after them, for sure! And, EastTXbound, I have 3 pig pipes that I keep in service. They keep the piggies coming back, hold their attention for a while, and are very low maintenance. I've probably shot 120 of them over the pipes since I began using them a few years ago. Even got a couple of "2-fers" over them.

There's a never ending supply. Give 'em your best shot!

Yes, and I'm having another trap built to help stem the tide! As has been mentioned before, you really can't shoot enough of them, on a casual basis, to control the population. And, my traps can work 24/7, but I can only get my old butt out there for a few hours per week!

Post a picture of your trap when you can. I've got 4 traps placed now and no two are alike. I gotta finally cut the bottom out of my oldest one 'cause I think all but the little guys don't like walking on it.

Educate me on the mix and size holes you put in your pipes. I've never used one, but I'm getting tired of coons, yes coons eating even the corn/diesel mix. I'm going through a dry spell, baiting in the evening and nothing in the morning. Eaten and not tripped, eaten and tripped, etc. I've got to increase my kill numbers. It's kinda becoming an obsession.

I determined the size hole in the pig pipes by using corn kernels as a guide. I drilled a couple of holes in some scrap PC, loaded some corn into it, shook it up good, and once I got the size hole that would allow leakage, I stuck with that size. Some pipes have lots of holes all over them; others I just drilled a line of holes down two sides. Portable meaning that with 3 other fiercely sturdy guys to help, it can be moved to different spots rather easily. The third trap is a fairly large, round trap, 30 feet in diameter and held in place by bunches of t-posts. The fifth one is a home-cobbled one that I made out of cow panel and held together by stainless steel hose clamps. It was my very first attempt at trapping, and I got a lot of grief from my buddies because it is so darned ugly. 8 feet long, 4 feet wide and 4 feet tall. It is homely, kinda like a mud fence in a rain storm, but I've caught a bunch of piggies with it over the years. It's anchored on two corners with t-posts.
