Looking at some game cam videos (to see what the hogs are up to) and had this short clip of a Coyote carrying something fairly large. I was able to view it full screen on my computer and lighten the video some....but still can't tell what it has in its mouth. It's fairly large however...about the size of a loaf of bread as best I can tell. The part hanging down at the bottom....at first I thought was the tail of something, but in full screen mode I could see it is not. Looks like some hanging hide/flesh, but not exactly sure of that.

Killed any hogs that are close to this location? Looks like hog hide or part of a hog.

Killed any hogs that are close to this location? Looks like hog hide or part of a hog. In the full screen version on my computer...the hide looks black, but the video is dark also. I don't have any hogs out in the bone pile right now but its possible one of my neighbors killed one/some. It's a sizeable chunk of something for sure. Sorry I can't provide a better view of it. The object is somewhat rounded with what looks like a torn piece of hide hanging down. So maybe it is a large piece of an animal and not the 'body' of something, I just can't tell. Thought I'd get other opinions. It doesn't really matter....I suppose. I've got some hogs showing up on one of my stand sites, but they are coming in during the wee-hours of the morning when its cooler and I'm just not quite ready to go out there at 4:00 a.m. to sit for them. Midnight....yes, later than that and I'm going to be in bed. Any Coyotes that show up will be shot as well. BOTH are shoot on sight vermin on my property.

I think it's a half grown wild turkey. The hens on my ranch start out with about 10-12 and by now they have about 2-3.

I think it's a piece of hide most likely off a black calf. May have a bone or meat in the part in his mouth. Did you see a dead calf anywhere in the area as I am sure there were buzzards. My buddy killed on in NM a few years ago that was carrying a piece of hide rolled up about the size of a football and shaped like one. The coyote was running with it in his mouth when the shooting started but the coyote would not drop the "football". Finally, at a great distance my buddy killed him and when they recovered the coyote, still had the hide in his mouth. Adios, Gary

We have beaver where I am but an adult beaver would be 30+ pounds and much larger (if intact).

Another vote for duck, big ol drake Mallard/park duck to be exact. In-laws live about 1/4 mile from us and they have a few mallards on one of their ponds, but this Coyote is coming from a completely different direction. Also looking at the video again (full screen) it just doesn't look like duck to me. I'll try to post a short clip of the video (larger but grainier) in awhile.

I think it's a half grown wild turkey. The hens on my ranch start out with about 10-12 and by now they have about 2-3. It would be a small miracle if it is a Turkey. The Wild Turkey Restocking program (done twice) here in Deep East Texas was a dismal failure and virtually NO Turkey have been seen here in 10-12 years if not longer. So....Wild Turkey is not a likely candidate (here).
