Would you spray high end hunting clothes ( Sitka, Kuiu,Firstlite ) with waterproof spray ?

I’ve used kiwi camp dry in the past with great success but don’t want to hurt the new threads

Absolutely not especially on waterproof breathable laminates.

Camp dry is a silicone spray and kills breath ability.

For water proof breathable fabrics(Toray, goretex, outdry) use Nikiwax or Grangers direct spray on DWR. For not water proof/non laminate use the wash in grangers/nikiwax to restore DWR

Interesting.

Kiwi claims that their spray does not affect breath ability when applied.

I’ll check into graingers

Kuiu and Sitka will tell you both Nikiwax or Grangers. I like Grangers.

Any issues with the Grangers? it work well? Only thing i've noticed about silicone spray ( other than it works) is that it darkens/richens up the colors. Not terrible but also not want you always want in hunting clothes

Nothing is as good as factory DWR but yes I wash my prana and Kuiu pants in it and it works well. I spray down gaiters and backpack with direct spray on. I switched to Columbia outdry extreme rain gear so it doesn’t ever wet out or need dwr, it’s literally shake dry.
Oh I’ve also used the “down wash” For sleeping back and jackets and it works well

Best thing is never wash you hunting gear with regular detergent because it kills the DWR. Use granger or Nikiwax DWR safe wash

Used Kiwi often for the canvas on the pop up back in the day and it performed great. I don't wear any high end threads, but do spray on my jeans when needed. Otherwise just a very light weight rain jacket.
