Just about any seasoning mix and a generous amount of brown sugar. And I put Apple juice in the water pan.

The worst I ever had was wonderful. I make my own. Salt, cayenne, brown sugar, and anything you have.

I make this rub and use it on all my pork butts and ribs. I cut the recipe in half though.

Meat Church Honey Hog BBQ is what the last two were. Everyone liked it but it’s a little sweet for me, I try to mix it up to keep peace. Dizzy Pig and Treager also have great rubs and their descriptions are normally spot on.

Bill’s right, that list plus pepper and anything else will be good on pork. I prefer peach (Hickory and pecan will work in that order) wood and I too use apple juice in the water pan.

Salt, pepper, a little dried mustard and chili powder.

On pork, I like to mix sweet and heat.

Salt pepper and garlic will do wonderfully you can add lots of other stuff but it don’t need much.

This is a good store bought rub

during most of the smoking process I go pretty simple with salt, black pepper, onion & garlic powder, about equal parts of each. Towards the end of the smoke, I take my S/P/O/G dry rub and mix in (separate container) equal parts of dry rub, light brown sugar and dark brown sugar for the last hour or so.

My favorite rub is half Tony Cacherie's (sp) cajun seasoning and half brown sugar. Coat that butt, or whatever, in yellow mustard and liberally coat on the rub. Perfect flavor combo, spicy and sweet. Yum!

Mustard is new to me. Have some honey mustard. Plan to try that on my ribs Friday.

Lots of good ones out there for sure. My personal favorite is Chupacabra All Purpose Seasoning.

We use the dried mustard powder, mix it in with the the other spices and then rub it in.

I do yellow mustard before the rub. makes a nice bark.

Mustard gives the rub something to stick to, gives it some added flavor and adds to the bark. I learned it somewhere, smoking meat .com I think.

Thanks a bunch. I used some honey mustard on my ham and Swiss sandwich for lunch. It was great? Plan to use some on my cheeseburger tonight. I'm making potato salad instead of baked beans with my ribs tomorrow. Honey mustard should knock your socks off.
