I had a question regarding 85-gallon drums. I have an opportunity to get about 10 of these cheaper than they sell for retail. I was wondering if there was any interest if these were sold for $100/each or possibly less if bought in multiples. These are new 85-gallon salvage drums, heavy duty, should last a lifetime, will make a 600 pound corn feeder. Lids, funnels, leg band kits can all be bought on-line or picked up in various locations.

I believe you would be able to sell them. I'd be interested in 1 or 2 probably but I haven't price checked 85 lately

Most of the places I’ve bought then are $150+

If they are new, they should have come with lids. Are they the ring clamp or lever-lock style?? Either way, $100 is a great price.

Yes they do come with a ring clamp lid, which work fine just somewhat of a pain in the butt. I was referring to the slip on lids you can buy to make life easier.

85 gallon drums make nice corn feeders. They'll hold between 500-550 pounds of corn depending on funnel angle

ah ha, if they do come with a lid and clamping ring lock, I would be interested in a couple also ...

Although the slip on lids make life easier, they also bring their own issues with higher winds unless you strap them down, which brings it back to why not use the clamping style ... not to mention the slip on lids are not cheap.

Think they are reclaim drums, if a 55 gal drum had a small leak it will fit inside and had a lock for the lid, they are heavy dutysuckers.
