ive quit before. seems like day 3-5 is the worst? any tips out there?

Hang in there. It will get better and easier...you just have to fight through it. I quit 1,520 days ago. I still post on the support site www.killthecan.org every day. Remind yourself why you're quitting and don't give up!

I quit cigarettes 2-1/2 years ago, quit dipping the same date in early February this year!

Change your routine if possible. It is the routines that trigger the need. The best time to quit is when you go on vacation, because your routine is completely different and does not have the "triggers", but you can still do it. You just have to get past that "moment" when you think you need it, get past it, mission accomplish. Then you will have another "moment", dam I need a dip? Get past it, mission accomplish..

Keep it up, at peak, like day 7, you will have a lot of "moments", you got to have that dip. Fight it off, you will get past that moment. Each passing day, you will have lesser and lesser moments, and it is down hill form there my friend. Good luck, you can do this....

Hardest thing I ever went through. Quit almost 20 years ago and wish I had a head full of it just reading this post.
Took me months to finally get over the urge. I tell my grandsons that if I were diagnosed with a terminal disease the first thing I would do is get me a roll of Copenhagen & a cold beer.
Quite drinking in 1985.

That’s a good rundown of what to expect.

I switched to nicotine gum. Takes care of the oral fixation and has nicotine. There are tobacco free dip replacements out there. I’ve never tried them, but some people like them. The gum is preferable to me. Good luck.

I quit Jan 4 of this year. Had a cold and sore throat that I couldn’t shake. Halls helped me through the first month. Not a day goes by I don’t want one but I’m good now. I’m with JimmyG, if I know I’m done I’m buying a can and going out happy.

It's not the nicotine that's hard to quit, you actually shouldn't have any nicotine in your system anymore.

It's beating the habit of it.
Don't replace it with anything or you'll just pick that up as a habit.

And you have to actually want to quit. If you go into thinking you'll quit, you won't.
You have to go into it full force saying I'm done, and cold turkey is the easiest way.

Quit Copenhagen 20 years ago.

Get one last can.

Quit cold turkey in January 1999 after 17 years. I don't miss it and I wish I had the money I spent on it.

Stay on the path. If you are going through hell keep on going.

Hard core Cope fan here for 25 years. Quitting is actually very easy. I quit 7-8 times.

Congrats....I quit chewing tobacco three years, one month, and thirteen days ago....hardly a day goes by that I don’t want one....

No tips here, but keep posting and maybe I'll work up the gumption to quit also. I quit cigarettes earlier in the year, with chemical help. I now don't drink anywhere near the coffee I used to. But, that being said, I drink about 3/4s of the 1st cup and let the rest cool to get that 1st dip. Have cut the size down of the dip, but still keep dipping at about the same rate. Hang in there, I'm pulling for ya.
