I miss that. We had a good one at carswell.

It is not that, it is that we prefer to spend our money at our locally owned businesses. I have never set foot in a Discount Tire, most likely never will.

No I've had bad experience backed up with high prices. They suck.

That will get it for you if they don't have it.

I ordered a fresh dated set of 4 Goodyear dura tracks on July 3, they showed up July 21. That’s a long wait.

Always had good service from our local DT. Can't find fault in a store that gives free flat repairs even if not purchased there.

I purchased a used truck and the first week I had it I ran over a discarded broad head. Went to DT to get it fixed, they asked my name and I gave it to them but told them it wasn't their tires. They said it didn't matter, I was a long time customer and it was free of charge.

Over the years, I’ve probably bought 15 sets of tires from DT. I always get their warranty and I’ve probably had them replace at least one tire per set due to nails or other punctures. Never had any issues. The last two sets I bought from them I price shopped and their online price was the same as the various online dealers.

Thanks,
Rich

Is it there anymore? There one here at lackland is pretty good. Yokota had the best to me so far.

I think like almost all places, this sounds more like a manager issue than a company issue. You find a store with a good manager, you'll get good service. I've bought roughly 28 tires from DT over the years and I know for sure they replaced 11 of them under warranty. I've always compared their prices and the only time they weren't the best price, or within a couple of dollars, they price-matched the other place without batting an eye. And there are also bad customers, not just bad managers.

More competence in rural setting the major urban city center, IMO

I have come to realize that not all DT are equal ... The one here in Gtown has always done a great job of customer satisfaction, service and timely turn-around every time I have used this one for over 15 years on all our personal vehicles (3x) and trailers (8x) and have been completely satisfied

I’ve used them a lot and haven’t had many bad experiences, but I’m tired of the ridiculous wait times (even when they’re not busy) and the constant attempts to replace tires that don’t need replaced. If that nail isn’t dead center in the tread, they won’t even consider it. Even when it is, they’ll come up with some other nonsense to avoid fixing it.

Had the same issue here in Weatherford, but DT agreed it was their fault and paid for everything. This also happened on a Jeep if that matters.

If you do your research and pick the right tires at the right price, then get them sent to the store for for install, you can do ok. If you walk in cold and don't know what you need, they start rubbing their palms together.

Avoid Firestone like the plague unless you're looking for a shop that will try their absolute best to sell you repairs you don't need at inflated prices.

Most lug nuts require 90 - 95 ftlbs. That is pretty tight. They should be using torque wrench. Never heard of cross threading a nut when removing one that is not cross threaded on installation.
