Any guesses what happened? Didn't seem to affect antlers on either side.

If he is still in the area by the time season rolls around and gets shot would the meat be ok to eat?I had just soon pass him if I can't consume the meat.

The rest of the deer will be fine. Just not the area around the hydrocyst.

It appears that one has busted open and drained. It will probably go away and you may only see a red or bald spot at that time during the season. More than likely if it is has drained or been absorbed into the body it will not leave a scar. Like posted above just don't eat that meat in that area.

When I see one of these pics I wonder what happened.
