I think you meant say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I agree, if I get something that works great, I won't sell unless it's a ridiculous offer. This does not apply to firearms only. Raising a family, I don't have the money to get the latest and greatest once a month. I consider myself lucky Mamma has let me spend what I have.

Buzz, the hottest scopes are at the pawn shop, check em out.

As many of you know, I am a Brand Ambassador for Trijicon and have converted all of my optics to their products. While they have been priced a little higher than some of the competition, they are possibly the most rugged made and built to handle the abuse of our military. My favorite is the Accupoint 3-9x40 and I have it on all my deer and predator rifles. This past Shot Show, they came out with another 160 SKU's, some at a much lower price point. I have just begun to field test some of these models but so far, I really like what I see. Also a hugh fan of the RMR sights. Go to their website and I think that you will be impressed with these great optics.
Adios,
Gary

I'll also give my meaningless endorsement of Trijicon products. I own a few of the accu-whatnot models, coincidentally all ended up on Laruee qd mounts. None of them are the "military" models, however I have extensively shot a friend's vcog and acog. All function as well as the most rugged scopes I have abused, albeit very small sample set but abused well. The glass clarity is where i think you get the best value with the accupoint and accupower scopes. I'm still not sure what to make of all the new models.

I always recommend my 2.5-10x accupower. I used to wonder why the US military would use a fix 10x system for so long. This scope is the reason why I now know one can indeed shoot 500-600+ yards with only 10x. The size is a bit ridiculous but it's so dang clear and it's not as heavy as it appears. It's sfp, no parallax (which probably helps with the weight) and I like the reticle choices. Mine is sfp but at least it's mil reticle with mil turrets.

Finally, there has been a proliferation of scope makes and models with very similar specifications and rumored to be produced physically in a small handful of overseas facilities. Me thinks Trijicon is in this game as well but I'd trust the Trijicon brand and their qa/qc over some of the others. Especially when the price differential is not much.

I will third Trijicon. I think their 3-9 AccuPower is the best 3-9 Scope for the money.

Surprised you still have that antique, it must be 3-4 months old by now. I'm guessing you have your own dedicated UPS driver and truck?

I've moved further to the cheap side of the menu when it comes to optics.

Got the Razor HD LHT in 3-15x42. Awesome little scope for my 6.5 PRC in the mountains. Loving it so far.

The weight vs reliability factor is a balancing act. I'd rather carry a few extra ounces. I'm not a hunting in the mountains at altitude so I'm not obsessed with weight.

I've been curious how this scope compares to a VX-5 HD 3-15?

I've had the VX5HD and honestly I think they're very similar. I prefer the LHT reticle (MOA) and the locking elevation turret. Don't think you can go wrong with either.

LHT is second focal plane, which makes it "no bueno" IMO for LR shooting/hunting.
