Figured I would ask the THF brain trust, I’m traveling next week with my UTV on trailer and will over night in N Tx, how would you lock it up on the trailer?

If you have a trailer with ramp, lock the tailgate and for dang sure lock the hitch. Back into a solid wall if possible. If you have wheels with large gaps, chain them to the trailer.

There comes a point it’s easier to steal the whole truck w/trailer. Basic would be a locking pin for your truck trailer hitch, lock for trailer hitch, and either chain lock the utv to trailer or lock ramp.

get a driveway alarm with two motion detectors, set one on each side facing out, if anyone comes near it, it will alert you in your room. I set mine under my mule.

This is what I do except I use a cable instead of a chain. It’s lighter and scratches less.
As with everything, just keeping people honest.
Somebody wants it, they’ll take it.

If you can, back the whole rig up where the trailer back end is against something immobile. I run a cable lock through the rims on my tandem axle trailer as well.

DON’T DRIVE A FORD DIESEL. That’s the best way to prevent the entire rig from being stolen. And like everybody else said, chain it to trailer, lock the trailer ramp, and lock the hitch. That’s the best you can do

Mostly depends on where in N Tx you're talking about stopping for the night.

I’ve always used a long cable. Run it it through the frame on the bikes, the generator, chainsaws, whatever is on the trailer. Loop one end around the frame at the back of the trailer, lock the other to the chain hook ups on your hitch.

I have a starter kill on my truck & I back the tailgate of the trailer against a solid object.

Correct me but can't you turn off the fuel on your Ford- Chevy truck with a switch under the dash passenger side.
