I have this Trijicon it’s a solid scope.... they make it first or second focal https://www.trijicon.com/products/details/tmhx1844-c-3000001This is not SFP or MOA but a good option if those are not required https://www.brownells.com/optics-mo...po-5-25x56mm-rifle-scope-prod124967.aspxI have used the New Vortex Light Hunter model and it’s a really nice scope great glass and reticle but I didn’t include.

‘Hottest’ has been pretty muted thanks to the pandemic. Many new models that were supposed to come out of SHOT either arrived quietly or not at all. I also feel that we’ve reached a minor peak and there won’t be many surprises soon, just incrementalism In scopes for a bit until the next breakthrough hits.

The reason I'm asking is I've had a couple folks on another forum wanting to buy my NX8. I don't know what I would replace it with. Would prefer lightweight: Leupold Swarovski March

What is your definition of lightweight?
How much magnification do you need? They work against each other.

Leupol MK5 could fit your need. relatively light, right around that price point, SFP and MOA are both available options. I would say it depends on primary purpose. for a LR gun id say that MK5. on a hunting gun I's probably go with a Swaro Z6

Buzz I have a Swaro X5 3-18x... we can swap and when we get bored or forget why we got rid of them we can swap back... you can’t beat that offer.

He has to mess with things for the sake of messing. No other reason. He could have the perfect scope, on the perfect rifle, shooting an 1/8 MOA load, and he would mess with it.

This is true. He loves the hunt for the perfect rifle, optic, etc.. Once he has it, thrill is over and he is looking for the next perfect, rifle, optic, etc. My best friend is exactly the same except he doesn't sell them. They just go in the safe and never get shot. With my buddy, the high last about 30 days after he gets whatever he gets and he is looking for the next thing.

I have a good friend that runs thru rifles as fast as anyone I have seen. He bought 4 last Fall for hunting and worked up loads... all sold and has new Tikka as of last week....it may be gone? He has had 25-30 since we met 8-9 years ago. He has never shot more than 30-40 rounds thru any of them.

With my buddy, the high last about 30 days after he gets whatever he gets and he is looking for the next thing. I'm in the camp of getting them just like I want them, working up the best load they will shoot, and never change a thing. Just shoot the pee out of em. They are consistent, I just have to be as well. Yesterday I moved a scope to my rental rifle, and went to zeroing. In two shots, I was showing me it needs a cleaning. So, I cleaned it very well, then went to fouling. In 5 rounds, numbers 4 and 5 were touching, I adjusted zero up and left just a tenth Mil each. I moved to a new target, round 6 could not have been more centered. I only had one more round in the box of 50, so let it rip. Round 7 went in the exact same bullet hole as round 6. That's what I get off on, badazz shooting rifles, not constantly changing things. Different strokes...

If I had plenty of money, I would take the M7Xi IFS 4-28x56 from Steiner. Or for 223 (if the cartridge is supported) the Intelligent Combat Sight (ICS) 6x40.
And I am very curious about US-Optics. They have some really sexy scopes in the portfolio.

Need lightweight optic
probably keep the NX8 a little longer
Put the 4.5-14 on the M70, looks goofy with tall capped turrets, May look at another Z5 5-25 Swaro with BT, or even a Z3
