I’m setting up corn feeders for the first time ever in hopes of drawing in more mike deer and auodad to my place. They were everywhere before we added cattle 2 years ago (the deer that is). My question is should I place the two feeders in the open field or in cover with sage bushes etc or one in each type of area?

May get rid of the cattle...

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I wish I could, this is the last year of the lease option though. I do think the cattle play a part since there’s not as much cover as before but I’m hoping the corn draws them in. If not I’ll settle for yotes, auodad and pigs who I know still come in on the reg.

They will certainly eat the corn and can empty a free choice protein feeder in short order!
