No driving on the beach=a lot less fun. Why would they not allow you to drive? It is the best way to spread out miles along the beach.

Check Padre Island. We just came back from four days there at the Island House.
Beaches were open, although fairly crowded.

Beaches were open, although fairly crowded. As of today the county shut em down. You can still walk on the beach but I'm more of a sit in the sand and drink beer and play with the kids kinda guy.

The bull reds are also running during October. The pics above was in October last year. The house sleeps 16 and there’s 10 of us going. If you’re actually considering going PM me, but I will say it’s a guys only trip. There will be drinking, there will be cooking, there will be drinking, There will be fishing, there will be drinking, there will be cursing, and there will be lots of laughs.

They shut them down over the 4th also, we just walked down to the beach. Kids loved it.They had a 8 pm curfew. Probably the best 4th I’ve had down there. Very little boating traffic and the island beaches where sparse, and easy to get a good fireworks watching spot in Rockport Ferry line was nothing also, I’d still go if I was you. I’m about to go back down there for all of Aug I think

Just got back from North Padre today, the beaches in the county are open, they close down at 8 pm each evening. Besides the beaches shutting down it looked pretty much business as usual.
