It’s early but season is just about a month away...hard to think About when it’s 110 degrees outside but relief is in sight.
Goals for this year:
Kill a trophy mule deer
Fill every OTC whitetail deer tag the state of Texas gives me with a bow. MLD tags not included.
Kill at least one limit of doves.
Kill a limit of ducks.
Put a pair of axis deer in the freezer
Go on a upland hunt in January/ February.
Get both boys an archery kill
What are yalls goals ?
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Same as last year. Kill enough deer to fill my freezer and my in laws freezer. Also kill every pig I see. I'd like to get my biggest buck ever with my bow, but that has been my goal since I shot my biggest buck in '09. Still haven't seen one in bow range bigger since. Also might take the recurve for a doe. Itd be cool to take one the old fashioned way!

Have some of the hunters that normally come be here again. Every one of them get whatever they came for and not have to trail any wounded animals.

to have fun and get through it safely Agree. And make sure all animals harvested get consumed, no waste. Hopefully my granddaughter will take her first this year.

This will be my second year hunting a new tract so I just want to see more deer than I did last year. IMO, it takes a season or two just to get the travel routes and patterns figured out on a new place.
My only other goal is the same one I have every season, to always return home safe.

pretty simple, spend as much time in the woods as I can enjoying what God has provided, and come home safely each trip. I will take enough game to enjoy the meat throughout the next year ...

I will hunt as much or more than I have the last 40 yrs now. Concentrate on mule deer and whitetail mainly as I have the last 15 yrs now. I hunt everyday I can and usually at least once every day, with most days twice per day during the season starting in archery till the end of MLD in Feb. I have not dove or quail hunted in years but may give a try this year. I will hunt for hogs and predators year round and have been hunting hogs pretty much every week since March. Even did a few spring turkey hunts with my bow this year. My goals are different than most in that I will pick one deer and hunt it only till I get it, mule deer or whitetail. It may not be the biggest but will be one I have history with. I get to hunt WT on MLD places so filling tags is not an issue as they have plenty. I spend as much time taking pictures these days when hunting as I do shooting an animal. I won't top my year last year as far as trophy animals seeing as how I took my largest WT to date, my first pronghorn, my first turkey with a bow and my largest MD to date. Long as my health stays good, I will hunt as often and as many places as I can.

my goal is to make as many trips to the lease as possible during season, and to harvest my first Texas mule deer just leased a place in motley county that has numbers but finding a mature one that meets the antler restriction I think will be tough.

There are two many places to go, places to see and WT/MD to hunt still.

New quail lease this year. Hope to get my 3 pointers into some birds. Got one that’s coming 2, hasn’t been in any wild birds yet. Hoping the old Britt makes it to the season, she’ll get to ride shotgun and do some backing.
