Gonna swap out my Tikka T-3 Stainless Lite. Looking at both a Savage 110 High Country and Browning X-Bolt Hells Canyon. These are similar in price. I will be using it almost specifically on whitetails, hogs and such in a South TX hunting environment. I am not concerned about one being heavier than the other. If I was, I'd just keep the Tikka.

Should I just scrap these and purchase what appears to be a lightly used Christiansen Arms Classic for $400 more?

Interested in hearing what I realize are opinions.

I think you might be a little disappointed in the way the action feels by going from Tikka to Savage. So between the 2, especially at the same price, I'd highly prefer the Browning.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. The AccuFit System on the Savage might guarantee a better fit, and the AccuTrigger has a solid reputation. The Savage has a threaded barrel that makes it more suppressor ready and the rifle itself is made in the U.S.

The Browning Hells Canyon has shot well in my testing, and from what customers tell me with my ammo. (And I'm not a Browning fan) I'd also stay clear of a used Christensen rifle. I've not been impressed with them, to say the least.

Keep the Tikka, or go with the Browning in those choices.

Made a load for a Browning X-bolt last year in .300 Win Mag. Nice rifle that shot quite well. Savages shoot great, cycle like poop. Ejector springs wear out pretty quick.

Christensen, no thanks, ever!

Keep the tikka, if your itching to spend money build on the tikka action.

Had not thought about that. Frankly, I want more heft on the rifle. If I were to replace the stock, what should I look at?

If you ever need Brownings customer service you will probably never buy another Browning product again. I know I haven't.

For $400 more I'd ask to shoot the Christensen. If it shoots, I'd go that way over the Savage for sure. The Brownings are nice and would be hard to pass up. Replacing the Tikka stock, look at the non-carbon Manners or McMillan-the carbons would be too light if you're looking to add weight.

A Boyd's laminate will certainly be heavier than a T-3 Lite stock. Manners or McMillan can have weight added to them.
