Well, not really, but it feels like I'm already there. [Linked Image]

Until, pretty much, today, hunting in Burkina-Faso or Benin (whichever one isn't tearing itself apart with civil war, or terrorist attacks at the time) was actually on my bucket list. Roan, Western Savannah Buffalo, Western Kob, etc. Even though, with a decent outfitter, you sleep at night in a hut with an air conditioner, I realized today that I'm not cut out for that crap. I was never cut out for that crap. Heat-induced migraines, etc., etc.

Who knows what all these bizarre times will do to the wildlife populations all over western, and southern Africa. May God have mercy on them and, above them, the people of that region.

Its dangerous hot out there. Weather man said this evening, when the temps are 104 to 106, the asphalt can be as hot as 150.

it was brutal today but not the worst i've seen. I remember leaving the ranch in Zavala County one day and the temp gauge said 116 after i had been on the highway for about 10 min.

Days like today make me want to get the cabin going up in New Mexico

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

This very closely resembles Presidio weather.
