The other thread got me to thinking about the worst dish my Mom ever made. Mine had to be liver and onions. I couldn't even stand the smell, much less the taste.
If I came in at supper time and smelled that, I'd just go outside and do without.

I was never forced to eat anything. I either ate what was on the table or did without.

Everything my mother cooked was bad, except mashed taters. She deep fried everything...into shoe leather. Never knew what good home cooking was till I met my wife.
Mom also smokes like a broke stove...so there my have been cig ash in the food too.

Same here Bill. Fortunately my mom was a fantastic cook. The only thing I would not eat canned yellow or green beans. Still won’t today.

The least favorite thing my mom made was goulash. It wasn't bad, just not my preference. My momma doesn't make a lot of flashy meals, but she got what she does down solid. Aint no skinny people in our house growing up.

Green bean casserole. Threw up into my glass of tea as a kid when I was made to eat it. Everything else is/was great.

My mother was a great cook, she could make shoe leather taste good. I laugh when I see the comments about liver and onions, it was one of her best "concoctions".

Don't think my mom every made a bad meal. Now the green jello salad stuff she makes at Thanksgiving and Christmas I can do without, but it isn't bad.

only thing I hated was canned english peas.

My mom (who taught me to cook) was an excellent cook. She fed the seven of us well and I remember no complaints from around the table.

Both of my parents were pretty good cooks and they had me in the kitchen doing stuff at an early age. I'm thankful for that now since I don't have a wife to cook for me.

All my mother's cooking was top notch except for fried chicken.

Liver. Not because it was bad, my grandmother, father, and sisters loved it, but I can't stand the taste, it's got a metallic taste to me. I love the smell of it, but I can't handle the taste.

Salmon patties!!! Oh how I hated to smell them cooking when I walked in from school!!!

My mother is a good cook, but now a days if anything has that rotisserie chicken from wally world in it, i wont eat it. Seems like we grew up eating that at least once a week when we were younger and i can't stand it anymore.

My mom is an excellent cook never made a bad meal. Funny story about my dad though. My mom was working one weekend morning so my dad decided to cook breakfast. He always made scrambled eggs with rice and fried some deer links. That morning he used the grease mom had left on the stove to cook the eggs. I took one bite and knew something was wrong. "dad these eggs aren't any good". He just told me to shut up and eat, so I did and it was terrible. Dad made himself a plate a little while later and spit his eggs out on the first bite. It was then he realized that yhe grease he used was leftover from salmon patties my mom had fried the night before.

Grandmother and Mother were both wonderful cooks. Took me leaving to the USAF to realize meat actually had blood in it as they would cook it all well done. Was still great.

Dam an English pea.
