$150 for a '56 Studebaker pickup with a 224 V8 and 4spd auto, w/ manual brakes and steering. It took a city block to make a U-turn. Those were the days!

68 Dodge 1/2 ton window van.
Mag wheels, shag carpet, slant six three on the knee.
$1375.

I was in a band then, playing drums.
Girlfriends parents were not impressed.

Had a lot of fun in that truck.

Rusted out 1969 Olds 98. 455 rocket v8. College car. Bought in 81. A real whale. Used to throw my dirtbike in the trunk with the forks and front wheel hanging over the side. The prepsters at school with their fancy daddy cars used to just stare as i rumbled by. I know they were thinking “gee, i wish i had one of those.” Wrecked the tranny when i slid off an icy road into a ditch going deer hunting.
$100

$500, 67' Pontiac GTO. Bought it from my brother in 1980. He went through cars faster that I went through underwear. Wish I still had half the cars he had/sold.

$5400 for a foxbody Mustang. As I've mentioned before, spent all my money on the car and couldn't afford new tires. Wrapped it round a tree a month later after 4 inches of rain

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I actually own a 1956 Studebaker pickup, although it is probably a bit different than your first truck. My first vehicle was multi-primer and rust colored 64 Chevrolet long bed that I paid 1,200.00 for.

Mine was free. Ol' F-150 with a bent frame and smoked like the mosquito man, leaked oil everywhere. Busted glass, full of dents & rust. Biggest POS in the High School parking lot. I couldn't keep a girlfriend with that truck, none of them wanted to be seen riding in it LOL....but it got me to school, then to work, then home everyday and it was mine.

In fall of 1976 my parents bought a 1977 Nova two door for $6800.00(?). Just before I left for SFA in Aug 1980 I bought it for $3000.00. In the Spring or Summer of 1985 I sold it for $300.00.
It was beat up and the transmission was shot but the small block 305 was solid.

$4200. Took a loan out from the bank of Dad. Deal was I had to save up $1,000 first and then give him half my paychecks until I paid him back. My daughter is 15 and we are looking for her first car now. Fun times!

Free. Year was 1977. My Aunt found out they'd only give her $250 trade-in on her '62 Plymouth Belvedere, so she gave it to me instead since I'd just got my hardship license.

First car I bought was a '59 Ford Pickup a year later. Gave $350 for it.
