I picked up a Sig Nightmare 1911 in .45acp
Have not fired it yet, but really like the way it feels in my hand, not to mention the looks
Couple of questions for those that own or have owned one
I have read it has combat sights, I am more used to target sights
If by chance I have trouble getting used to combat sights, how hard is it to change them, or is it better to take it to a gunsmith?
If I have read correctly, to aim combat sights, you aim the barrel, not the sights?
Am I correct on this assumption?
TIA
Here is a pic of this beauty

Personally I would not notice the difference between the two different sights due to how I shoot. I would shoot it with the sights it came with and see how you like them. Very nice weapon you have. I have the sig scorpion 1911 and love it

The term Combat sights are more of a description of their profile, not how they are used to aim.
Combat sights are generally sturdier construction and have low profile rounded edges that won’t catch on clothing while being drawn from a holster.

You may be confusing the way target shooters aim at a bullseye target, which is 6 O’clock on their target. Combat shooters use point of aim point of impact. Sights are aligned the same, where they are held on the target is the only difference.
