Living the Crappie fisherman's dream How many freezers full of Crappie do you have or is Crappie on the menu all of the time? I got one freezer for crappie, this is all from this season, I’m estimating 225 crappie in there, and probably 60% full. Just last week finished eating all my crappie from last season. Chart black or pink black has always been my favorite Those are popular jig colors. Chart black during the spring, then chart/white during the summer is how I have historically rolled, mainly based on what I have been told be others and read on TFF. But one thing I have learned with livescope is crappie do not care about jig color. I got several different colors, and I change color all the time and have never found it made a difference. At least the aggressive style fishing I do, which is drop the jig fast (I use 1/4oz jig head), and do a hard stop right in front of the crappie, and they will bite it out of reaction. I do this until they are on to my trick, then I move to the next brush pile. Below is a YouTube I did on this strategy last year, I call it the dive bomber strategy.
