How high from the floor to the bottom of window? I think im going 48 inches. I have a chair that sits pretty high. At that height im thinking I will get busted less.More to hide behind. Lol. Ill lower the chair untill time to shoot.

I like close to 40". Close to that is what you will usually find from store bought, I think. If my chair was that high I would get a different chair. It seems most chairs are about 19" from floor to where you sit.

It depends on the chair height, the elevations the blind sits on, do you use a sandbag and then how high your blind is off the ground. I set all my windows at 38" to the bottom. I have done 42" but got into a problem with a blind sitting on a rise looking downhill...chair was not tall enough. I use all tall back office chairs that go up and down quickly but iit was a bit to short for that 42" height on the hill. My windows now are only 10" tall also so I can still put a sandbag under if I need one. I also do not like large/wide windows, but will put two smaller ones on the wide(6') side. I keep the backwall solid(door in it also with no window) with only one small window and I keep it covered since it is against a tree/downwind. Deer see your silhouette easily and if you move any they really see it...so that is why I keep something dark behind me. I also will put up a mesh camo cloth over an window if I keep getting busted. I will also put the door side back against a tree if I can so I only have to corn and hunt 3 sides of the blind.

Funny, I thought when building my last blind that I put the windows at the perfect height. Unfortunately, I was wrong and they are too low. Spend most of the time hunched over to look out - very annoying, but not enough that I've started cutting...

I use office chairs also and make the window 10" tall and the bottom of it at 39". The wife hunts in the blinds also so at 5'-2" , the window opening fits her also.

of the two stands I hunt most, they are 36" to the bottom of the window. One of those is only 5 feet off the ground and I have to lean over a bit for shooting out around 70+ yards, the other one was 10 feet off the ground and seemed about right and could still get to where I could shoot closer in if needed. If I were building another, I would probably go with 37"-39" depending on height I planned to put the stand.

Dang, I hate it for you that you have made up your mind. I dont claim to know a lot about a lot of things but a 48" shooting rail height would really be a problem for me. Im 5'11" and if I could find a chair that went high enough my feet wouldnt come close to touching the ground. I am never pushy with my opinion and I dont mean to come across that way now but I seriously think you will regret it. Of course, if you dont hunt a lot or arent real serious then it wont matter. Best of luck.

take the chair you plan on using, sit in it with a tape measure touching the floor to see where normal eye height is for you in that chair and see what the measurement is for looking horizontal.

I just did that sitting in my office chair and my eyes are right at 48 inches above the floor. I must have misspoke (mistyped) with my 36" measure, it had to be closer to 40".

Last one I built was ~38" with a 11" window. Both office chairs with easy up/down.

Just build up the floor with a drop in... some 2x4 or 2x6 runners with plywood on top. insulate between the original floor and the new deck and it'll be quiet and warm!

It all depends on the chair and the person. I use a swivel bar stool so my legs can be kept fairly straight. So my windows are up. My son and nephew are taller, they move my stool out of the way and use the office chair.. This works for 3 of us, my other nephew is shorter, he has to use my bar stool and pillow to get high enough. If the window is too high or too low, change out the chair.
