We were there a couple weeks ago...hit RMNP, Monument Valley, Petrified Forest, and Big Bend NP. Was our first time for all of them....
Haven’t had a chance to sort through pics yet....Yours are great! Saw lots of elk and moose...beautiful park!

Absolutely beautiful place and love the pictures. It's been 25 years almost to the day since my and my new bride spent 4 days there now. We are headed to Red River NM in 5 days to get out of this heat and your pictures really make me wish we'd added a couple days to RMNP to our trip!
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Awesome. We are headed to Estes Park in August, what part of the park were you in? Glad ya'll are enjoying the pics! We spent most of our time on the East side. This is because we were wanting to see the moose and their best known hangout is in the Sheep Lake area. The bighorn sheep also come off of the mountain to the East and come there to water but we never saw them. The elk are everywhere and only saw the mule deer in or close the lower meadows in the morning. It's definitely an amazing place and I sure hated to leave.

We love it up there in Estes Park & RMNP! Last time we were up that way (last year) was for youngest sons soccer tournament. I looked into the price of houses and property. Man it is expensive up there!

This is our first trip so I'm not familiar with the area but I'll check out those spots in relation to where we are staying. This trip was booked because our Hawaii trip got canceled. I've been to Hawaii, never been to Estes Park so I'm more excited about this one than I was about Hawaii! Thanks for adding to that excitement!

The Sheep's Lake area is only about 2 miles from the East entrance so it's easy to find. If you are wanting to see the moose it is best if you get there before daylight. Also you have to make a reservation to get in the park so be sure you check into that before you get there so you dont get surprised like we did. Lol. If you have a Facebook then you should join the "Elk in Estes Park " Facebook page. Lots of great pics and people usually post where they are seeing the wildlife. Have a great time and post some pics.

Wow, specimen mountain is covered. That’s a lot of snow for this time of year. When we were there 25 years ago in mid-late June the snow bank on the road going up to the divide was higher than the RVs driving in front of us. I've got some old video of it somewhere but I'd imagine it was 15'-16' high where they cut it to clear the road. This park is one of the best there is and the only one in the lower 48 I've been to I liked better was Yellowstone. If you haven't been...…….GO!
