Another good night of hunting. Had a really sick sow, emaciated, but no sign of previous trauma. She was rooting an eating, but obviously still very malnourished? Any ideas to why she was so bad off?

Keep on getting after them! That emaciated sow looked a victim of CWD, but I don't believe hogs can catch that disease. I wonder if there is a porcine equivalent to CWD?

Did the thought of contacting TPW to do some investigation come to mind? Covid, dust storms, murder hornets, protests...DNS just prevented July's surprise by leaving well enough alone...  My curiosity says some sort of inherent or systemic malady vs. externally caused... If you had done some level of necropsy we would know, but not before the spirits of Hades were unleashed on all of us.

Nice shooting on all, but particularly with respect to the first hog. That thing didn't want to go down.
That emaciated sow looked like it had been sucked dry!

We had a sow like that 2 weeks ago. Just bones and skin, looked awful.
