I see what looks like it may be a lion, but it is so blurry, that it could just be rocks, grass and shadows that looks kinda like the face of a mountian lion. I would not say that this is a confirmed sighting of a mountain lion. I do think that is a pig.

Big animal is an elk with his winter coat coming it. 2nd animal is a mountain lion. Terrain looks to be southern Colorado or Northern NM. Which makes sense based on the temperature, date and time.

I now believe that there is no second animal and what looks like a mountain lion or other feline face is nothing but an odd pattern in the rocks/grass/shadows.
It's way to small to be a mountain lion. Just look at the surrounding brush and other vegetation, rocks, etc.
The main critter is 100% a hog and no way an elk.

That cat was probably shopped in. Who would examine a pic of the back of an elk so closely to notice that cat?
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

I had a hard time finding it. I then looked at the image in a separate window and blew it up to 240% to find it. I can now look at the picture and see it right away.

The main critter is 100% a hog and no way an elk. You sure about that statement? May want to look again, or you might get a hard time from some of the boys on here. Just my advice. It’s an elk, go hunt some more hogs and you will be able to identify them better so you don’t shoot someone’s cow thinking it’s a hog.

I do not believe it is a hog unless he has long straight hair and a long neck. Looks like a wet elk. Look at the definition in the legs/muscles. Not hoglike, more deerlike to me. The cat is deceptive. size and lack of any body form makes me wonder if it is actually a cat, bobcat, far away lion or weeds that happen to appear like a cat face.I have a laptop so not a great screen to see any definition.

Still don't believe that's an elk.
But I doubt more that the image behind it is a mountain lion.

Still don't believe that's an elk.
But I doubt more that the image behind it is a mountain lion. So the NM parks department has time and money to photoshop stuff.

Dead giveaway on the fur, that’s definitely not a pig. I see that ML, I think the way the photo turned out made it look a little strange. Of course, if you thought that’s a pig, you’d probably be convinced it’s a house cat, photoshopped or a small ML.

I got this photo from a social media buddy who said it was from a trail cam.
I assumed it was "his" trail cam photo.
Regardless, after reading all comments, and looking at the original links, I sill do not know if this is a hog or an elk.
Each side is positive he is correct, hog, no, elk, no, hog, no, wet elk, noooooooooooooooo!

Still don't believe that's an elk.
But I doubt more that the image behind it is a mountain lion. Follow up series of pics from the elk first moving into frame, walks past the camera and then the lion walks past the camera. https://www.facebook.com/RioMoraNWR...d02l92HGe8Ak&fref=nf&__tn__=kC-R
