I am going to make it a point to go coyote hunting this year and I am just thinking of the bullet and gun I should be using. My only 3 rifles are a .22LR, 6.8 SPC AR and my bolt action 30-06. I am assuming my best gun would be my 6.8spc AR. It is my hog gun set up with a 1-10 optic and 120 grain SST's for my bullet choice.
My thoughts are I need a faster lighter bullet like a 95 grain. But I dont have any experience with anything other than the 120SST.
what would you guys recommend for a bullet and weight for coyotes??

I load 90 grain Gold Dots and 110 grain V-Max. Either will do the job nicely.

I’ve killed numerous coyotes with a 22LR, speed wasn’t an issue, although I do love my 243 shooting 75g Vmax at 3300 FPS for pasture poodles. That 6.8 will be just fine, I would change away from the 120’s.

I would use the 6.8. But if reload u can use a 125gr sst in 06. I trapped a bunch too. I had a few that took 2 shots to put them down with a 22. I carry a single shot 22 and rim fire 22 pistol with high velocity 22 shorts. Look around find a cheap 223 single shot. I bought a rossi 223 yrs ago. Trigger sucked but shot good.

6.8 SPC AR and use whatever round you have it zeroed with. Coyotes are not hard to kill, don't over think it.

This time of the year the pelts aren't worth anything. The 6.8 will do just fine with the hog load. Then you're ready for a pig too.
One shot is all it should take.

I guess I was overthinking it or maybe trying to find a reason to try the TTSX 95 gr Barnes bullet
