Shot a mourning dove in Shackleford County last year with a band. A buddy shot another same morning, same field. Pretty cool.

Anyone know where they do the banding? I assume they have several sites through out the state.

Yes , several sites. A buddy kills a couple a year near Palacios. Must be a site near there.

I have shot plenty of birds but only recently I have started looking for bands. I like think I would have noticed a band but I am sure that some have been missed.

Have shot a banded pigeon but never a duck or dove. Have been on a hunt at our place in Cass county when a banded mallard was shot.

Nice
That collection would make for a nice pic here.

Ever shot a double banded duck or goose?

Shot a banded snow goose that was an adult bird when it was banded in 2008. Thought about all the spreads it saw in that time, pretty cool. Also have a banded redhead and woodduck.

I have shot 2 neck collared ross geese that of course had leg bands too. Killed 1 ross that had a reward band along with normal band. 1 blue had a normal band & plastic tarsal band on other leg. Oldest bird was a blue that was at least 20 yrs old by their data.

I shot a banded mourning dove in South Texas that was banded on the neighboring ranch (Chaparral WMA) woohoo and when I guided in the panhandle we had quite a few clients shoot banded white wings outside Lubbock that were, of course, banded in Lubbock.

Shooting up the locals. I wonder how many different locations they were banded in.

TPWD traps and banded lots in my uncles yard in El Campo for a couple years because his feeders were always covered up. He ended up shooting one that had been banded in his yard.....

I've never killed a banded bird but I did catch a tagged salmon in Alaska.
Maybe this year is my year for a banded bird.
