I could have sworn i had used a beef stroganoff tecipe from this forum. I believe it was a crockpot recipe but after searching all afternoon, i cant find it at all.
Anyone know what i am looking for?

Cube up the meat, brown it in cast iron with a little lard. SPG to taste. Remove the meat, maybe add a little more lard and make gravy. Add meat to gravy and simmer until tender. You might want to add some chopped onion to the simmer. Finish the simmer by adding a bunch of sour cream. Serve over flat egg noodles. Garlic toast is optional.

I cant remember who the author was, but I copied it and have used it. Wonderful meal... Here ya go
Crockpot Stroganoff
1 Full onion, chopped 2.5 lbs stew meat, cut into small chunks 3 cans Campbells Golden Mushroom Soup 1 Small can cut or chopped mushrooms Salt Pepper Garlic Salt Worcheshire 1 block Cream Cheese
Put cut or chopped onion in crock pot Top with the meat uncooked Add the 3 cans of mushroom soup 1 heaping tablespoon salt 1 tablespoon black pepper 1 teaspoon garlic salt 2 tablespoons Worcheshire
Cook for 8 hours on low heat. Just before serving, add in 1 block room temp cream cheese and allow it to melt. Stir well, serve over noodles.
Press for an AMERICAN.

interesting that doesn't have sour cream in that crock pot recipe above, uses cream cheese ... I recently made a batch but used ground venison instead of cubed ... turned out great

I've done this. It is delicious!

I've tried this too and it was good but next time I will use cream of mushroom soup instead of the golden type. It just seemed a little too strong with mushroom taste for me.
